This states that if you lived in Kentucky for more than 183 consecutive days, you are considered a resident
and are required to file Form 740. You must file all earned income on your Kentucky filing on Form 740. If

PART-YEAR RESIDENT:
This states that you lived in Kentucky for a short period of time and/or moved in and out of the state of
Kentucky. You Must file Form 740-NP for any earnings that you received from the state of Kentucky and any
other earned income all must be combined when you are filing Form 740-N. If you have any questions, you may

NON-RESIDENT:
This states that you do not have your permanent residence in Kentucky, but you had any earned income from the
state of Kentucky including any type of income from property that you own and/or sold. You are required to
